What will happen when we connect two transformers in series?

Image
In the below mentioned figure 1 we can see the connections of two transformer when they are connected in series. There are two transformers of rating 220/12 volts.                                                                                                   Figure 1                      Primary Winding               =            Connected in Series Secondary Winding         =             Connected in Series When primary of two transformers are connected in series then voltage will divide in each winding of both transformers equally. With the same configuration at output the voltage will also divide at secondary if secondary winding is connected in series. We can see in above figure clearly that 6 volts will appear across each secondary winding but current will remain same in both windings.  Transformers

Why we use Buchholz Relay? How it Works?

Image
Buchholz relay   is used for the protection of   transformers   from the faults occurring inside the   transformer . Short circuit faults such as inter turn faults, incipient winding faults, and core faults may occur due to the impulse breakdown of the insulating oil or simply the   transformer   oil. What is a Buchholz relay ? Buchholz relay is a type of oil and gas actuated protection relay universally used on all oil immersed transformers having rating more than 500 kVA. Buchholz relay is not provided in relays having rating below 500 kVA from the point of view of economic considerations. Why Buchholz relay is used in transformers? Buchholz relay is used for the protection of transformers from the faults occurring inside the transformer. Short circuit faults such as inter turn faults, incipient winding faults, and core faults may occur due to the impulse breakdown of the insulating oil or simply the transformer oil. Buchholz relay will sense such faults and closes the

WHAT IS DIFFERENCE BETWEEN NEUTRAL AND EARTH?

Image
NEUTRAL WIRE:   That wire which completes the returning path of electricity is known as neutral. Without neutral wire any equipment will not energizes.    if you disconnect the neutral wire bulb will not glow anymore even the switch is at ON position. Figure 1 shows a bulb is connecting with live and neutral                 EARTH WIRE:     It is that wire which is used for safety only. Without this wire every electrical appliances will work but in case of fault it gives shock to person who touches its body. if this article is  helpful for you then please don't forget to click on the "follow" button on the left side top corner to know about the more articles.

How a Thermal Power Plant Works

Image
THERMAL POWER PLANT Introduction: It is the most conventional source of electric power. It is also referred as coal thermal power plant and steam turbine power plant. A thermal power station is a power plant in which heat energy is converted into electrical energy. In most of places in the world the turbine is steam driven. water is heated turns into steam and spins a steam turbine which drives an electrical generator,  after it passes through the turbine the steam is condensed in a condenser and recycled to where  it was heated When fuel is burnt and water in the boiler started to become steam and then steam is again superheated and sends it to the turbine. The force of steam causes turbine to rotate hence turbine will rotate and electricity is produced.
